Ora , essendo assente l' insegnante di Igiene della scuola di ostetricia in quel di Vercelli ,  il Direttore , l ' Andreoli , mi chiese se potevo sostituirla per un giorno , non volendo far perdere la lezione alle studentesse .
Munita del libro riuscii in un paio d' ore a farne il riassunto .
La classe era attenta e partecipe . L ' insegnante assente , quando mi incontrò non lodò il mio approccio alla materia . Mi chiese solo : E io adesso cosa spiego ?

E così oggi , giorno tutt' altro che caldo , vi do' un bellissimo tema scientifico :
